Dignity for Her: Free Menstrual Health Support for Women and Adolescent Girls

ACT India Foundation is implementing a Menstrual Health and Dignity Initiative to improve access to safe, affordable, and sustainable menstrual hygiene products for women and adolescent girls from vulnerable communities across Dindigul District. The programme supports adolescent girls, school and college students, textile and garment workers, migrant women workers, and women from low-income households who often face barriers in accessing menstrual hygiene products and accurate health information. The initiative combines: Free distribution of sanitary napkins to vulnerable women and girls Menstrual health and hygiene education Awareness on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) Anaemia prevention and personal hygiene education Support for textile worker hostels and workplaces Promotion of eco-friendly menstrual waste management systems Installation and awareness on automated sanitary napkin incinerators Community volunteers and peer educator networks Over the years, ACT India Foundation has reached thousands of women and girls through schools, colleges, rural communities, textile industries, and women worker hostels. Donation Impact ₹500 – Provides menstrual hygiene support for 5 adolescent girls. ₹1,000 – Provides menstrual hygiene support for 10 girls. ₹2,500 – Conducts one menstrual health awareness session and distributes hygiene kits. ₹5,000 – Supports 50 women workers with menstrual health education and hygiene products. ₹10,000 – Organises a village-wide menstrual health awareness programme. ₹25,000 – Supports a school or textile worker hostel menstrual health initiative, including education, hygiene resources, and sustainable sanitation practices.
