About Us

Action for Community Transformation India Foundation Trust’s work is vital as it empowers marginalized tribal and rural communities with rights, education, dignity, and sustainable opportunities.

Action for Community Transformation India Foundation Trust (ACT India Foundation) is a non-profit organization established in 1995, committed to empowering tribal and rural communities through rights-based development, education, and sustainable livelihoods. The organization works with a strong focus on women, children, and communities facing systemic inequalities. Our work is vital in enabling marginalized communities to access their rights, live with dignity, and build sustainable futures. ACT India Foundation leads impactful initiatives in tribal rights, environmental conservation, agriculture, education, and livelihood promotion. We also address critical social issues such as child marriage, workplace harassment, gender-based violence, and limited access to quality education and healthcare. Over the years, we have created meaningful change across Tamil Nadu. More than 9,486 tribal individuals across 15 districts have secured entitlements under the Forest Rights Act. Hundreds of rural children have gained access to digital education, and thousands of women have been empowered through awareness on the POSH Act, gender justice, and personal safety. We also promote workplace dignity, menstrual health, and eco-friendly practices by training textile workers and distributing biodegradable sanitary products to women every month.
