
ACT India Foundation successfully organized the International Women's Day Celebration 2026 on 8 March 2026 at Vedasandur, bringing together key stakeholders from the textile and garment sector, government departments, and community institutions to celebrate women's leadership, rights, and collective action.
Theme: Celebrating Women's Leadership, Equality, Safety, and Collective Action for Sustainable Communities.
The event served as a multi-stakeholder platform to recognize the contributions of women while strengthening partnerships for safer, healthier, and more inclusive workplaces and communities.
A total of 125 participants attended the celebration, including representatives from textile and garment mill Human Resources (HR) departments, Government Medical Officials, Social Welfare Department representatives, Internal Committee (IC) members, women's groups, ACT India Foundation staff, and volunteers.
The programme featured awareness sessions, community engagement activities, and a collective pledge promoting gender equality, dignity, safety, and empowerment of women in workplaces and society.
The celebration highlighted the importance of collaboration among industries, government agencies, and civil society organizations in advancing women's rights and creating supportive environments for women workers and adolescent girls.
Through this event, ACT India Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women, strengthening institutional partnerships, and building resilient communities through education, awareness, leadership development, and sustainable social action.
